We were at Cannon Beach in January and I was out walking in the tide from 4pm to about 7pm. When it started to get dark the bonfires were lit and, in the distance, I watched while two large fire trucks and an ambulance made their way down a road to the beach and then headed south. A while later these large lights were turned on as they worked. I watched the lights from a distance until they left. I loved the reflections. But was aware that the beautiful reflections meant someone was struggling. The next day I walked where they had been and whatever happened was lost to the tides.
