The River Saale
In June I visited Halle (Saale), Germany to help with my new grandson. They live very near the river Saale and in the afternoons I’d run through a park along the river. It was so green and lush. These are some of the reflections I saw.
Halle is in east Germany, near Leipzig and south of Berlin. It’s not a city that sees much tourism but I was there for a month and thought it was an especially lovely place to live. It’s dense, people walk or bike or take the tram. Cobblestone streets were packed with outdoor tables for all the restaurants and since Germany had just permitted restaurants to reopen with outdoor seating, they were packed and full of life. It’s a beautiful place.
