Sun, sinking

Then dropping

Over the edge of the world

As silver moon rises from the sea

Illuminating marsh, fields, grasses and reeds

A moment of reflection for me

Then,

The rising of my heart

The beating of my veins

A swoosh of 

Wings taking flight

Images reflecting white

Such beauty, this marshy inlet’s song

Awakened by the coming of night

Ancient forms with squawking voices croon

Once more on their rise

Flying off to the moon
