Klamath: Summer Pond , 2021

Last summer when we all went nowhere and everything was cancelled, I went somewhere. There was an outdoor concert by pianist Hunter Noack at Summer Lake, Oregon organized by a nonprofit called ‘In a Landscape’. We had the opportunity to stay there for several days at a retreat center. My cabin even had an art studio. I spent my time hiking and drawing, watching the reflections on the pond.

The last night we were there the musician took his Steinway piano out onto the Playa, the dry lake bed, for a concert at dawn and at night. Both were gorgeous. After he played that night we waited and watched while the moon rose. It was cold on that lake bed, and worth it.
