These paintings are odes to the roads in these two counties and the countless miles and hours I’ve logged on them. More than just familiarity, the ties between landmark, landscape, and the episodes of our daily and less frequent travels grow richer and more layered year upon year, like a slow, cumulative painting. Or like the songs we listen to on the car stereo.
